Sapphira “Pride Of London” O’Shannon

DETERMINED, LOYAL and ENERGETIC are the 3 words to describe me... Sapphira O'Shannon.

Born 23/06/81 in West London. A true London Girl at heart - brought up in a multicultural environment with Irish & Trinidadian influences. I went into full time work from school. After 5 years’ office experience I realised getting properly educated was vital. I completed a Cert of Higher Education in Human and Behavioural Biology. I was set to complete a degree in Zoology. Until my brother suggested I sent my photos into IMM.
I joined them a few days after. A year later I’m a full time model.

When I heard about Catfight I knew I had to do it, I’m quite hyperactive & have a lot of pent-up anger. So feel I’ve found the perfect activity to channel all that energy into. When I started I knew I wasn’t one of the best. I also know that because of my determination I would undoubtedly finish up one of the best. I got everything I expected and more. I enjoyed myself from day one. I’ve loved the chance to better myself and push myself to my limits.

At times I’ve got really angry and frustrated with myself. Its been hard trying to remember a lot of things at once i.e. keeping your stance, what your throwing, blocking etc… Training in Tenerife was amazing, to be in the gym every day learning boxing everyday was top. Running up & down mountains, getting to know everyone involved better in such a beautiful setting. If I could live my life like that, I would. Lovely. (Thanks Jimmy for your hospitality x).

Boxing for me has been an escape, a time release to a bit of stress, get in the zone and forget everything. When I’m the ring nothing else matters. Just me and my opponent - whoever that may be, I’m not interested as I’m content because I’m not scared of anyone… just bring her on! On the night I’m fighting to win, for myself and no body else all though support from family and friends has been overwhelming. (Thanks to Jamelah, Adam, Gary and Claire x)
